New Year's Resolutions...

I've seen videos of resolutions on facebook, I've read forwarded emails of resolutions, I've heard complaints about resolutions failing, etc... today, I asked my London friends about resolutions and they all sort of shrugged me off with the idea that they don't make them...

Personally, I think this is just one more way that Americans are superior to the British... we are always looking for ways to improve ourselves (jk).

I, myself, accomplished one of my two resolutions from last year. I have managed to read the Bible in a year. So this year I want to visit a continent I've not been to before, and I'm recycling my resolutions of paying off my credit card. I have knocked it down to one... now I need to get rid of that one...

The idea of making a resolution at the New Year is interesting though. It reminds me of the line in Forrest Gump "everybody gets a second chance.".. spoken by one of the "women of reputable morals" that hangs out with Lieutenant Dan.

Everyone get a second chance at the New Year... it's a time to start over and to change bad habits... start the year over. We make resolutions to help us be better, to make a difference in our community, in our relationships, in our world.

I hope that this year we hold fast to what we want for our future and that with support, we get there...
