It is the week before half-term break. Oy Vey. I'm getting tired and exhausted. There's a lot of work to be completed and working with some of these children is just... ugh... fun... with a capital F. Anyway, this week hasn't been so bad. You will never underestimate the power of glitter stars when it comes to children. They LOVE glitter stars.
This weekend was interesting. I went to the pub to watch the France vs England rugby game for the Rugby World Cup on Saturday night. It is an amazing experience. Not only do I love watching Rugby, but the pub gets packed out and everyone is screaming and singing and cussing (when the French got points)--It's sooo much fun. One of the oddest things is that they sing Swing Low Sweet Chariot when they win. To me (and the other Americans) this was just weird. I explained to them that this is a negro spritiual from the times of slavery in America... they were completely weirded out. They thought it was about when the Queen used to drive around in a carriage.... yeh, right.
Today I went to Hyde Park and saw everything... all the fountains, the Princess Diana Memorial Fountain, Kensington Palace, errected by William III and Mary II, Albert Hall, etc. It was fun. Lot's of geese, swans, icecream and lounging in the grass. It was a lovely day.
For all of you who actually read this, sorry I haven't been writing more faithfully. It's been a precarious situation with busyiness, etc. At the moment I need to go make some supper. Cheers!
