So this weekend my one of my forms (7O) was seriously possessed. They are insane behaviorally. I have to call everyone's parents... oy vey. 7T started bullying one another and meetings and craziness are consuming all my time.
I'm also beginning a literary magazine at the school. I'm excited. We're going to have a contest to come up with the title. yay!
But the real points of interest began Friday night.
Martha and I went to dinner at the Beacon Tree Pub... pub food is the best because it's generally cheap and filling so you can drink and not be hungry or anything.
When we left there, we took the bus to Ilford to stop by the Timeplan social and get free drinks on the way to King George V... a pub in Newbury Park where our friend Mel works.
The drinks were good, except I do not like Frangelico... hazelnut goes with coffee or chocolate, not strawberries. Well, Martha wanted to walk to the King George, and swore it wasn't far... we walked for like 1.5 hours! We got lost 3 times and I was getting nervous cause it was getting late.
Finally we got there and hung out with the Canadians for a while. Jeff was being weird... he is sooo weird. But it's always fun hanging out with Martin and Katie and Katie and Mel, etc. So Martha and I were playing cards and having a few drinks and these British guys at the next table kept watching us, etc. Eventually we ended up talking to them and hanging out and it was a lot of fun. When the pub closed, Martha and I went to one of their houses and we watching music videos and played soccer in the yard till all hours of the morning. It was great fun. There were several weird moments in between, but that's all part of the fun. I'm just glad to have met some NICE British boys.
On that note... one of the guys who I work with, Billy, is being soooo obnoxious. He keeps trying to hug me and kiss me at work and I have told him that I have a boyfriend and to buzz off... I never flirt or give him any encouragement, but he won't leave me alone. I don't mind being friendly, but I can't cross those boundaries, but also because IT'S MY PLACE OF WORK! Oy VEY!
Today I went to Brick Lane markets and went shopping and such. It's fun and you get to wander around and see different places. Whitechapel is in East London and it's not one of my favourite places because it smells a little like the river on 676 in Philly.... it has that city smell that most of London doesn't have. Brick lane is supposed to be a funky, artsy part of London where there's a lot of new music and art, etc. It definitely is... but that means there's also a lot of really funky hair and tattoos... anyway, I love that there are a ton of people who sit around and design their own clothes and sell them in little booths every weekend. It's fun and awesome.
Also, some odd fashions in London:
1. Men wearing cardigans
2. white keds or velcro shoes
3. tight trousers and very loose tops
4. Anything can be jewelry, from beer cans to old matchbox cars to legos
5. white blond hair, with pink or blue or black, and BLACK eyeliner
Well, I need to do a ton of planning.
